A trove of Studio 54 memorabilia -- which I'm guessing includes old bottles of poppers and designer coke spoons -- will be auctioned off Saturday. Read all about it HERE.

Debbie Harry: Queen of Punk. Photographs by Brian Aris

1981 (sigh)

My apologies to those who think I write about Debbie Harry too much, but I am just blow away by some of the images that have surfaced from photographer Brian Aris' new exhibition about the Blondie goddess opening today at Proud Chelsea in London. Aris has been shooting Debbie since 1977, but it's the post-"Autoamerican" '80s period that I find most fascinating, when Debbie was seemingly on top of the world, yet everything was about to unravel.  Her failed late '80s "comeback" era is there too, and it's only now that I've come to realize the chances of a woman in her 40s hitting the pop charts again was highly unlikely, even if you're Deborah Ann Harry!

Michael Triplett, 1964-2013

Sad to hear to about the passing of Michaeal Triplett, whom I knew from the National Lesbian and Gay Journalists Association. He died earlier today after a courageous battle with cancer. He had recently become president of the organization, and played a key role in NLGJA joining UNITY: Journalists for Diversity in 2011. My condolences to his partner, Jack, his friends and his family. He will be missed.

From her days on "Password" and playing the Happy Homemaker on "The Mary Tyler Moore Show" to her memorable roles as Rose Nylund and Elka Ostrovsky, Betty White is an American icon. Relive the magic of her first 91 years on Planet Earth with my pal Mike Pingel's new book, "Betty White Rules the World," available HERE!

Song of the Day: 'April 5th' by Rosanne Cash with Elvis Costello & Kris Kristofferson

This popped up somewhere yesterday, so I figured it was well worth a post. I think this clip was from Elvis Costello's talk show, "Spectacle," back in 2008. Whatever the case, it's a great song written by the three, a process Rosanne described in a column for the New York Times HERE.

Well, at least his building has a super. I wonder if Todd Akin would count this a legitimate rape because I'll bet you anything the dog never said no. Read HERE.

It's almost hard for me to take a list of History's 125 Hottest Gay Porn Stars seriously when it doesn't include Eric Hanson (the best-looking guy to ever do porn), Chris Steele, Ray Stockwell or Arpad Miklos (the man has his own beach towel!) -- or rank Johnny Davenport and Mike Branson where they belong (obviously at No. 1 and No. 2). But it looks like Matt put a lot of hard work into it, so you might want to HAVE A LOOK anyway.

I'll bet Nikolay Davydenko would kill to have a fraction of the hair Roger Federer has on his chest.on his head. The Swiss star beat the Russian in straight sets in the second round of the Australian Open, with nary a bit of fur flying.

Foster Children

Pardon me if I'm late to this theory, but I just read that the rumor mill has decided Mel Gibson is the father of John Hinckley's dream girl's two cute sons.
“The kids look like him [Gibson] but blonder,” said one amateur genealogist. (!)
That her relationship with the genetically gifted racist is so loyal, even through racist and homophobic meltdowns  -- and she apparently will not tell the children who their dad is until they are 21 -- kind of supports the theory. And let's face it: She's a hell of a lot smarter than Melissa Etheridge!

According to ESPN, the man suspected to be behind the Manti Te’o hoax confessed to a friend, and exonerated the Notre Dame linebacker of wrongdoing. That Te'o had to have known what was going on or that he was gay have been bandied about for the last 48 hours, but my initial thought was that he was just Catfish-ed. If ESPN is correct, so am I.

Have never watched a single episode of any of the "CSI" franchises, but a guest appearance by Chris Evert -- hitting against an incredibly good Elisabeth Shue -- might just be the ticket. The episode airs Jan. 23, but you can see a sneak peek now here:
