David 'Turned' Darlene Gay

Well, maybe that's not exactly what Sara Gilbert revealed on the secrets epsisode of "The Talk." But she did say it was while dating her "Roseanne" costar Johnny Galecki that she realized she was gay (she would cry after they made out). She then said she began to date a woman 18 years her senior, but kept it a secret because of fears of losing her career. Interesting that she finally opened up about this. She even says that she got Galecki's approval before doing so. You can be sure she wasn't able to get the woman's approval, widely known to be Go-Go's drummer Gina Schock. Not only was there a creepiness factor -- in 1994, Gilbert was 19 and Schock was 37 -- Schock is such a privacy nut that she had a hissy fit as recently as last year when her decades-ago age-appropriate relationship with Jodie Foster was alluded to online to in Kathy Valentine's Twitter memoir. #GetOverYourselfDude

Christine McVie to Rejoin Fleetwood Mac for Live Shows

I about jumped for joy when I saw THIS story on Billoard's website. But sadly I fear the woman who retired to a castle in the English countryside will only show up at European dates. Why can be bothered crossing the pond, really?

This coach is no Craig T. Nelson

Yahoo Sports writes that first-year Texas Tech head coach Kliff Kingsbury's return to the school he quarterbacked at has drawn a bunch of attention since he replaced Tommy Tuberville in Lubbock, but a key question has remained ignored until now. Does Kingsbury look like actor Ryan Gosling?

I have some plays he can call

Shades of Ryan

My answer is yes -- and I'm even willing to overlook his spelling his first name wrong!

The sign at Lasagna Ristorante is smokin', which is morethan I can say about the food.

UPDATE:

Later that same day it was business as usual! I love it when people pretend like something really fucked up didn't just happen. It reminds me of every holiday dinner at my parents' house.

Steve Young's Touchdown Pass

Sure, Craig James -- No. 9 on my Hottest NFL Players of All Time list -- may have let us down by saying we were all going to hell. But then Steve Young -- No. 13 -- turns around and agrees to speak at a Mormon conference on LGBT acceptance! This doesn't come as a complete surprise seeing as Young's wife rallied aginast Prop 8 while her church worked to fund it. But Steve stayed out of that fight, so it's nice to see him getting involved, especially given the number of suicides of LGBT youth in the LSD church. Might be time to re-rank the men! Read HERE.

The game's already over -- Peyton gave little bro Eli a spanking -- but I still had to share this cute New York Post back cover. Perfect timing seeing as Randy Johnson of the Village People tied the knot over the weekend!

Have been in Methode training all day at work, but have been following the horrifying killing spree in Washington with a close eye. (Coincidentally, we saw "Blue Caprice" over the weekend.) Police have identified Aaron Alexis, below, as the shooter, but have not stated a motive. Alexis is dead, so whether or not we ever know what happened remains to be seen.  Condolences to the 12 victims and dozens of injured. Just a horrible day all the way around. Latest  from NYT HERE.

Sweet report on an 11-year-old F2M boy HERE. But can someone please tell me: Is it transgender or transgendered? Is one a noun and the other an adjective? As far as I can tell, they're used pretty interchangeably. Can we get a ruling?

Song of the Day: 'Urgent' by Foreigner

The lead single off one of the biggest albums of my freshman year of high school, which was really my fourth year of junior high. I hated every second of this, "Jukebox Hero" and "Waiting for a Girl Like You" back in 1981-82, but came to appreciate how great this one was after Junior Walker, who played saxophone on the Foreigner recording, recorded his own version for the 1983 All-Stars album, "Blow the House Down." His version, you may recall, was later featured in the opening sequence of "Desperately Seeking Susan."
