Song of the Day: 'Love or Money' by Marilyn
Legendary Blitz Club figure and '80s pop tart Marilyn is back with his first single in three decades, yet it sounds like the natural follow-up to "Pray for That Sunshine." I'm perplexed who is backing this unlikely comeback -- for someone who has long been out of the public eye and battling addiction, girlfriend's body still rocks! -- but welcome it just the same. Please visit us in the Big Apple, Maz!

Rich Man, Poor Man
Ben Collins makes an excellent point. But which "rich person" is he referring to, Peter Thiel or Nick Denton? It's not like Nick Denton isn't the "Peter Thiel" to the people Gawker et al. has unfairly attacked who aren't wealthy enough to defend themselves, aka 99.9% of them. Peter Thiel is a disgusting human being. But that doesn't mean another rich guy should get to decide what is news and what isn't with impunity.

What Price Must The Daily Beast Pay for Olympics Misstep?
The Daily Beast deserved to be called out on their unseemly Olympics piece. It was fucked up and we've all let them know as much. But how far do we intend to go with this? They've removed the article. They're admitted they were wrong. They've improved the poorly worded note from the editors. And they've recalled the journalist from the Rio Games. Yet it seems many still can't take yes for an answer. I urge everyone to look through The Beast's archives and remember they are not our enemy -- their history is as pro-LGBT as you can get. Let's save the unbridled outrage for people who really are out to get us -- the types who double down when called out on what they're doing -- instead of piling on to journalists who actually took the time to listen to our concerns and have accepted responsibility for their mistakes.

Caitlyn Jenner Confirms That 'I Am Cait' Has Been Canceled
There's no question "I Am Cait" served a valuable purpose. But in order for a show to continue, its protagonist needs to grow -- and sadly Caitlyn "Don't Go There" Jenner was not ready to look beyond the purview of her white male privilege, even as a woman. (Now can we please give Candis Cayne a show?) Read HERE.

Eve: Portrait of a Teenage Real Estate Tycoon
Stories like this make me smile!
The Los Angeles Times reports:
After years of “Marcia, Marcia, Marcia,” Jan is finally having her moment in the sun. Actress-painter Eve Plumb of “The Brady Bunch” fame has sold her home in Malibu for $3.9 million after decades of ownership. Though she played the part of awkward middle child to a T on the sitcom, it appears the actress was quite savvy away from the set. An 11-year-old Plumb, with the help of her parents, bought the oceanfront property in 1969 for just $55,300. Sitting at the south end of Escondido Beach, the 1950s cottage returned to market earlier this year with plans for an ultramodern residence designed by Meis Architects, designer of the Staples Center, among other venues. Plumb's home currently has three bedrooms and 1.75 bathrooms in 850 square feet of space. But design firm, MEIS, is set to turn the 1950s bungalow into a modern, beach-front Malibu home, featuring a retractable moon roof, floor-to-ceiling glass, and a stacked car-garage, according to the company's website. The new home would have three bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms in 3,500 square feet of space. Now if only she and Maureen McCormick could make up in real life!

PJ Harvey Plays Hardball at Terminal 5
Accompanied my PJ Harvey-loving lover to see the enigmatic British singer-songwriter in concert last night after work. Although I knew a grand total of zero of her songs prior to Damian's buying the tickets -- even "Down by the River" didn't ring a bell -- I peeked at the setlist and crammed via YouTube, so went into the show kinda knowing what to expect.
That turned out to be more than I could say for the rest of the sold-out crowd, who looked a bit shell-shocked that she did all 11 songs off her latest album -- gloriously, I might add, with an eight-piece (all-but-marching) band that made you want to scream: "Tusk!" -- while all but ignoring her '90s heyday.
Despite this Morrissey-by-way-of-Madonna tactic -- is it a British thing? -- her show(wo)manship and stage presence were enough for me to see why they were all but hanging from the rafters at the city's worst concert venue, where the temperature must have been near 90 degrees .
And by the time she did "50ft Queenie"-- which reminded me of old Pretenders stuff and by the explosive response was clearly the moment her fans had been desperately waiting for-- I could definitely see how she'd acquired such a following, even if she seems to like to torture them for their enduring loyalty.
