Maybe it's a little premature to call it separated at birth, but this is definitely on my watch list.

Love going on eBay every so often to see if any new Blondie / Debbie Harry merchandise comes up. Last night, this 1979 photo by Hal Wilson took my breath away.

The world lost a truly great man today.

President Obama had this to say about the sad news:
“He no longer belongs to us, be belongs to the ages,” Mr. Obama said in a brief statement from the White House after Mr. Mandela, 95 years old, died at his home in Johannesburg following a lengthy health battle. “I am one of the countless millions who drew inspiration from Nelson Mandela’s life.” The president has called Mr. Mandela a personal hero of his, and noted Thursday that his first political action was at a protest against apartheid. Mr. Obama said he studied Mr. Mandela’s words and writings. “I cannot fully imagine my own life without the example that Nelson Mandela set. And so long as I live I will do what I can to learn from him,” President Obama said. (Via WSJ)

'Lucy' From the Sky

This overhead shot of the set of "I Love Lucy" -- bedroom with twin beds, living room, kitchen, and The Club -- made the rounds yesterday. I love stuff like this -- my high school career counselor gave me a test that concluded I should either be a menu writer or a set decorator! -- although some have questioned whether the photo is real or just miniature replicas. Either way, the Ricardos' apartment was at the fictional 623 East 68th Street, which would actually have needed to be a house boat!

Great move by Denizen to get Jason Witten to endorse its jeans. But when you pay a Cowboy to say "Take it from a tight end, they fit just fine," you might wanna show off the moneymaker a bit more.

Steffi Graf's Awful Father Dies at 75

  • The pair had fallen out when he was sentenced to more than three years in jail in 1997 for tax evasion
  • The fact that Steffi returned from America to say goodbye is seen as proof of a total reconciliation
  • She credited him with driving her to the top of world tennis

  • Seeing this a couple days late, but it sounds like Steffi Graf made peace with her tax-evading, prostitute-loving embarrassment of a father before he died. There have been many terrible tennis parents in history. But I don't think anyone could have handled Peter Graf with the poise and dignity and that his legendary daughter did. So long, farewell.
