Song of the Day: 'Turn It Up' by Michael Davidson

With his chiseled good looks and his Stock Aitken Waterman-produced debut single on the "Who's That Girl" soundtrack, I was certain Michael Davidson was destined for stardom. The song did well, but then he fizzled away in a hurry, rendering him more of Nick Kamen of the Month.

Despite his short-lived music career, the Michael Davidson CD my friend Greg and I produced -- which compiled various mixes of his biggest song, plus its one and only followup ("Warehouse") -- has remained a much-sought-after item in our online store. Part of the reason could be the inclusion of a previously unreleased PWL demo called "Don't Turn Your Back," which sounds a lot like Davidson, but that we have since found out is not him. Sorry for the tease, boys!
