Sad but not the least bit surprising that the Oscar-winning actor was found dead this morning of an apparent heroin overdose. What's surprising is how long he was able to be so successful in Hollywood while battling this addiction. He did a lot of great work -- "The Talented Mr. Ripley,""Capote,""The Savages" -- but it was his breakout role as Scotty J in "Boogie Nights" that will stay with me forever.
